Hello!

So I've finaly decided to sit down and write something on my blog as I haven't done so ever since valentines day, which I hope you had a great day on :)

School has just been getting me very busy, however assessment week has just passed by and I've gladly survived the tests hoping that I did well. Good news is that we have only have 3 more days till it is the end of term, meaning that we have a week off school.

On the other hand there are some negatives because after the week off school we are moving towards the end of year assessments, which are quite stressful. However we shouldn't worry because after all the end of year exams are done we are able to relax for a longer amount of time (6 weeks holiday) where we can enjoy life.

Top Tip:
Work hard and you will get your reward which can either be good grades, a calm holiday with nothing to worry about or both.

Ready. Steady. Bake!

Firstly, I am very sorry for the lack of blog posts because I've been quite busy
ever since school had started and due to the amount of homework my school gives me.

Recently I have been very interested in cooking and baking things from scratch, so one day I decided to go on the internet to find an easy recipe, which I can easily make. As I scrolled down I suddenly found a picture of a cake, which caught my eye.

                                                           Ingredients:
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  •     2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  •  1 teaspoon vanilla

        Method:

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line two 9-inch round cake pans or one 9x13-inch rectangular baking pan with parchment paper. Grease the paper and the sides of the pan well.

In a large mixing bowl, with an electric mixer, beat sugar and eggs together until slightly thickened, about 1 minute. Add flour, milk, oil, baking powder, and vanilla and beat for another minute, just until the batter is smooth and creamy. Don't over beat. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan(s).

Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick poked into the center of the layer comes out clean. (A single rectangular pan will take longer to bake than two round ones.) Loosen the sides of the cake from the pan with a thin knife, then turn out onto a rack and peel off the paper. Let cool completely before covering with frosting, if desired.

Here's how mine turned out:

Not bad for a first try, right?
Hope you try this recipe out as it is very delicious as well as appealing.

see you on my next post
